First introduced to great acclaim in 1960, the Accutron is considered the world's first fully electronic watch and has been declared one of the most important innovations in the history of watchmaking. With the same passion for innovation and pioneering technology, Accutron introduces a new historic advance in timekeeping - the world's first watches powered by electrostatic energy.
ACCUTRON - The first clocks powered by electrostatic energy
The electrostatic energy in the proprietary Accutron movement is generated by twin turbines that rotate at incredible speeds between two electrodes attached to the movement as a result of the movement of the watch on the arm. The energy stored in an accumulator drives two motors: a world-first electrostatic motor, which drives the sweeping seconds hand, and a stepper motor, which drives the hour and minute hands. Both motors are synchronized by integrated circuits to ensure an accuracy of +/- 5 seconds per month.
SPACEVIEW - Pure design and technical excellence
After a decade of dedicated research and development, Accutron introduces the new Spaceview 2020. The watch recalls the stunning visual impact of the original open dial design with the exact same signature green accents and view of the new electrostatic energy movement. Born in an era of unprecedented risk-taking, the 1960s Accutron Spaceview was a groundbreaking achievement and an immediate sensation. By deconstructing the design of the outer case and exposing the state-of-the-art tuning fork movement, it became the purest example of design integrity and technical excellence. Over time, it became an iconic masterpiece.
DESIGN - New look with the same breathtaking effect
The new style of the Spaceview is characterized by domed sapphire crystal, a stainless steel case and bezel and a fine black leather strap with folding clasp. Electrostatic movement, case approx. 44 mm, 2-year power reserve, accuracy +/- 5 sec./month, 3 bar water-resistant.
