What is a radio controlled watch?

In short: A radio clock receives the time via radio signal from an atomic clock

Radio-controlled clocks automatically adjust themselves to the correct time once a day by using the time signal received from a time signal transmitter for synchronization.

It is not necessary to set the time manually. In addition, the hassle of setting the clock due to the changeover to summer or winter time is no longer necessary. Wearers of radio-controlled watches appreciate the very precise time information.

Some radio-controlled watches use GPS to detect when they are in a different time zone. An ideal companion for travelers, such as some models from the Casio Collection G-Shock.

Radio-controlled clocks are quartz clocks and as such are powered by a solar movement or a battery.
